I am a social gerontologist, undertaking research on areas including the built environment and housing (especially alternative models of housing, and housing for vulnerable older people), in-home care provision for older people, community wellbeing for older people, and end of life care. My interest is in reshaping academic debate and policy against the significant demographic changes we have started to experience, and will continue to experience, with an ageing population.

My research and engagement in social gerontology has been recognised in national and international journal article publications, conference presentations and media interviews. I am a peer reviewer for several journals, including Disaster Medicine and Public Health Preparedness, the Journal of Public Health, BMJ Open, The Gerontologist, The Journal of Aging and Social Change and Social Inclusion.

I am a member of the Australian Association of Gerontology (AAG); a Board member and the Vice President - Australian Board of Directors of the Association of Gerontology (AAG) and Trustee of the AAG Research Trust; the founding member - Housing and Built Environment Special Interest Group, AAG; and a committee member - South Australian branch of Australian Association of Gerontology.
