The Donald Mackay Churchill Fellowship to research methodology in countering and disrupting organised crimes use of cryptocurrencies featured image
This project will provide the opportunity to identify best practice in: • Education: undertake public awareness, crime prevention, and victim intervention as well as increase law enforcement capability and understanding of how to investigate these crimes. • Seizure - identifying legislation, tools, and opportunities to seize funds and collaborate with the financial industry • Disruption – obstruct organised crimes ability to access the vulnerable, financial infrastructure and ability to launder proceeds of crime. By deepening law enforcements understanding of cryptocurrencies and how criminals use them in financial/cybercrimes will assist combating organised crime. SAPOL supported/approval granted.
