Scott Falconer has almost thirty years’ experience in the field of natural resource management, having worked in the National Parks Service, Fisheries and Wildlife, Land and Fire, and Emergency Management Agencies.


He is Deputy Chief Fire Officer/Director Forest and Fire Operations for the Department of Environment, Land, Water & Planning (DELWP) in Victoria. He is responsible for the leadership of a large operations team in the delivery of programs associated with fire, land and emergency management on public land.


In 2017 Scott received the Lord Mayor’s Bushfire Appeal Churchill Fellowship to travel to the USA and Canada to investigate how to create close partnerships with Traditional Owners in fire and land management, with a focus on working with Traditional Owners to enable them to reintroduce cultural burning practices on Country.


Scott is leading efforts on behalf of DELWP to support and enable Traditional Owners to return Cultural Fire to Country in Victoria.
