To achieve quick clearance while maintaining evidence integrity at fatal and serious crashes featured image
Road trauma impacts the community in many ways. Road closures at fatal and serious injury traffic crashes are required to ensure available evidence is gathered to conduct a thorough coronial or criminal investigation. Road closures cause economic losses to the community measured annually in the tens of millions of dollars. QPS (Forensic Crash Unit), has developed an innovative project to reduce road closure times by deploying a crash investigator by motorcycle equipped with a survey quality remotely piloted aircraft to facilitate quick clearance by improved response time and capture of critical evidence. This project is to identify international advancements in quick clearance and remote aerial mapping.
