To develop and prepare Australian athletes for international paraclimbing competitions featured image

Sports Climbing offers unique benefits for individuals with impairments, allowing them to adapt and compensate for their limitations, making it an inclusive and accessible sport.

The Australian paraclimbing community wants to see growth of the sport and for sport climbing to become a well-recognised rehabilitative sport option. Sport development needs to be accompanied by ensuring the necessary support to equip athletes to represent Australia at an international level. To prepare athletes for international competition this project aims to

  • Build capacity to classify these athletes.
  • Better understand the intricacies of competition paraclimbing at an international level
  • Develop engagement, training and performance strategies for these athletes.
