To develop Australia’s first open-access digital archive of culturally diverse artists and creatives featured image

Australia’s historical and contemporary creative landscape is as diverse as our population, however contributions of culturally and racially diverse artists and creatives have not been adequately documented due to systemic barriers, including ongoing stereotyping. To redress the under-representation of accessible historical information about diverse creatives and practices in Australia, I will examine structures and practices of international archives to understand: best practices in developing robust documentation process, framework and open-access digital infrastructure, specifically related to arts and culture; models for scalability and sustainability; new strategies for community and sector collection and engagement.
