To eliminate social isolation and decrease stigma experienced by veterans living with persistent pain featured image
The vision is to eliminate social isolation and decrease societal stigma for veterans living with persistent pain; through the power of art and technology. Veterans have the highest rates of persistent pain of all groups - 40%. This equates to 252,000 veterans living with pain in Australia. The condition is the third most prevalent in Australia, costing the economy $144 billion in 2020. The unique nature of military service means that many veterans experience health and welfare challenges above those of the Australian population. This project will explore how an online community platform can provide a safe and supportive environment for veterans; fostering connection, validation, belonging and empowerment.
