To explore, review and document case studies of successful private-public conservation partnerships featured image

Public resources dedicated to threatened species recovery are declining while the threats and pressures are increasing. Private, non-government organisations dedicated to conservation are increasing, partly in response to this. In Australia, public-private-partnerships (P3) in conservation is growing but are still sparse. I see this as an emerging opportunity in Australia and in my role as a state government public servant, have some capacity to influence this. However there are barriers stopping us from embracing this model and I want to explore successful partners hips in other countries with a focus on governance models designed to avoid the pitfalls.
