To improve women's sexual and reproductive health by optimising Intrauterine Device (IUD) usage featured image
Intrauterine devices (IUDs) have significant benefits for women of all reproductive ages recommended as first line for managing heavy menstrual bleeding prevent unwanted pregnancy for up to 5 days after unprotected intercourse second most effective reversible contraceptive available can assist with menopause management. Australian women have low rates of use compared to women in many other countries. Plus I want to improve information and clinical services for women relating to IUDs, increase and improve training for General Practitioners and nurse inserters. I want to discover how overseas practitioners provide clinical and educational services to maximise these benefits for Australian women.   Keywords: Intrauterine Device, IUD, women's health, contraception, long acting reversible contraception, LARC, IUD Champion
