Winsome Jobling travelled to the United States of America and Singapore to investigate innovative hand papermaking focusing on specialist papers for printmakers. She did this through working alongside papermakers to gain practical insights and skills; and through research by visiting other professional papermaking studios and talking to relevant practitioners.
Highlights of her trip included:
Winsome continues to develop hand papermaking in Australia by maintaining contacts with papermakers and institutions in the USA and building links with national papermaking groups such as Papermakers of Victoria. She also holds workshops interstate.
Winsome continues to hold open studio days and run workshops in Darwin for local artists from all fields to promote the potential of future collaborations using handmade paper.
