To investigate leading global actions to transition cities to a resilient low carbon economy featured image

Cities are undergoing rapid technological changes as they seek to build local resilience, reduce emissions and take advantage of the shift to a low-carbon economy. Newcastle Australia, has a long history of reinvention, taking action to mitigate the effects of climate change and providing leadership in clean technology. The project will investigate cities and organisations that are deploying innovative projects, policies and commercially-available technology to meet the urgent need to decarbonise and build local resilience. This study tour will enable Newcastle to continue its transition to a smart, liveable and sustainable global city and provide a local exemplar for Australian cities and regions.
