Donna's research examined the attitudes and strategies used by individuals and leadership teams who have successfully established ongoing and sustainable mainstream employment for people with disability. Her research involved Identifying and interviewing leaders and champions who have instigated sustainable and meaningful employment opportunities for people with disability. Donna met with leaders in public and private sector organisations in the USA, UK, France, and Switzerland. She Identified successful disability employment programs involving recruitment, accessibility needs, workplace inclusion and workplace integration and career development.

Donna gained insights into what motivated organisations to build an inclusive employment culture to attract and retain people with disability, gained an understanding of how critical senior leadership was to driving culture change and how important data collection, measurement and reporting was to monitor and track change.

Donna is using the findings from her research to inspire and motivate leaders both private and public sector to adopt learnings and recommendations from her Report with the aim of increasing sustainable employment in Australia for people living with disability.
