Singing is a form of self identity and expression, and for singing teacher and voice specialist Nadine Manion, it’s something that should be accessible to everyone. Nadine believes everyone should have the support to explore their singing voice safely and in a supportive environment.
As a Churchill Fellow for 2020, Nadine seeks to investigate vocal technique and care of the transgender singing voice in the applied voice studio, with the aim to positively impact the experience of transgender and gender diverse singers in Australia.
In her current role as NSW President of the Australian National Association of the Teachers of Singing (ANATS), Nadine facilitates professional development opportunities for voice teachers in New South Wales.
Nadine is passionate about singing teaching and has an established private studio in Sydney’s Inner West in addition to her lecturing position at JMC Academy.
As a member of the Roundtable of Instrumental & Vocal Music Education Organisations (RIVMEO), Nadine works to develop evidence-based best practice models for musical activities in response to COVID-19.
Nadine holds a Bachelor of Creative Arts from the University of Wollongong and is currently undertaking a Masters of Speech Pathology at Charles Sturt University.
